Los Angeles Police Department

The Los Angeles Police Department or LAPD is the primary law enforcement agency for greater Los Angeles. The LAPD has twenty-one stations over the city and also has ties to the Los Angeles County's Sheriff's Department. There are four main bureaus: West Bureau, Central Bureau, South Bureau and Valley Bureau. The Office of the Chief handles administration duties. In total the LAPD employs nearly 14,000 people, 10,000 of which are officers.
