The Colt M4 is an assault carbine developed by Colt Defense, which has since been adapted for use by various military forces and law enforcement agencies.
The M4 was developed as a carbine sibling to the AR15 and M16 assault rifles. The M4 is capable of select fire and still fires comparable to the M16.
The International Temporal Enforcement Agency started with the M4 as their standard carbine, being extremely common for their security force to use. Since April 2009 the H&K 416 has slowly been introduced as a possible replacement to the M4.
